Are You Ready to Join Me on the LiveYinsa Journey?

This year – next month, in fact – Yinsa will be turning three! I can remember it like it was yesterday – when I decided I wanted to turn my love of yoga into a business.

Originally, I thought I was only going to be a yoga and Ayurveda teacher. It didn’t take me very long to realize that my purpose is bigger than that. As my interest and love for different Ayurvedic practices grew, my desire to learn about things outside of the yoga tradition grew. Today I have grown my business to encompass all of these elements as well.

The Yinsa Story

When I founded Yinsa, my main mission was to help people learn to embrace their individuality and find balance from within.  I wanted their ayurvedic dosha to be just as recognizable as their astrological sign. We’re getting there.

At one point, I, myself, had been looking for how to balance my life as a single parent and a teacher for NYC public schools. I found that balance through yoga and Ayurveda. (I know, I know – adding another thing to my plate seems like it wouldn’t bring more balance, but it did!) After receiving my 200-hour certification from Pure Yoga in 2014, I decided to commit to sharing the yoga lifestyle with the world.

After I had been teaching for a bit, I quickly realized that yoga was a huge umbrella, and if I wanted to be a good teacher, I needed to find something withing the yoga world to focus on. I learned about Sound Therapy, Therapeutics, Yin, and continued to learn more about Ayurveda. I began to focus my work on yoga therapy through two different lenses – Ayurveda and the Chakra system. Then entered my love of potion making, and I began to develop a number of Ayurvedic skincare products for both myself and my clients.

Eventually I created Yinsa to marry the worlds of Yoga and Ayurveda, and be able to continue creating individualized skin care products for clients all over NYC and across the globe.

The Yinsa Approach

Yinsa is more than just a word that sounds cool; It’s an Ayurvedic, yoga-centric wellness lifestyle founded on the premise that preservation of the body and soul is the key to a joyful life. Living a nutritionally and mindfully balanced lifestyle that includes self-care through daily rituals and practices, patience with long-term lifestyle changes, the practice of yoga, and the inclusion of joyful, cultural experiences make up the core principles of Yinsa.

We live in a world where everyone is always busy – the lifestyle is fast-paced, you always have plans, and you wear several different hats. Living a Yinsa lifestyle means stopping the flow for a bit to care for yourself through a deep and supportive Yin yoga practice, combined with the ayurvedic self-care routines and rituals that aim to target imbalances in the Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas.

Yinsa Flow Yoga is a meditative practice combining principles of the Dao and Hatha yoga lineages along with slow-flow vinyasa movements. Yin postures are held from 3-5 minutes and delve deep into the body by breaking fascial barriers and releasing tension in both the body and soul. Yinsa yoga forces us to be still; a practice that is so rare for those of us living modern, media-focused and constantly moving and changing lifestyle. Through stillness we can become well, balanced, and joyful.

Yin Yoga and a focus on the use of breath to release stagnant energy from the body, combined with essential oils and skincare treatments designed to complement your ayurvedic dosha, is the primary practice of Yinsa.

I Want YOU to be a Part of LiveYinsa
While I consider myself to be knowledgeable in many different areas of Ayurveda and yoga, they are both vast fields and it would take many more years to study them in their entirety.

Which is why I want YOU to be part of LiveYinsa. I want to offer more of a variety of practices that all fit the LiveYinsa ethos, while also giving other inspirational practitioners the opportunity to teach workshops, gain some insight, and gain a community by teaching through LiveYinsa!

If you’d like to host a workshop, click here to fill out an application and tell me all about the workshop that you’d be teaching!

I can’t wait to continue to grow Yinsa and LiveYinsa with you!
