What does your dream life look like? I want you to pause for a second and think about it.
Now I want you to think about your life right now, at this present moment. How do you feel about the life that you are currently living? Are you happy? Stressed? Sad? Angry?
We are all a product of our thoughts. It is our own thoughts and energies that are continually creating the very life around us.
If we want our life to change, it’s clear that we can’t go on doing the same thing we’re currently doing. Change is not easy, but every single one of us is full of limitless potential, capable of transforming all of our dreams into a beautiful reality. All we need is to learn the tools necessary to wave away any of the limiting beliefs, fears, and blocks that could be stopping us short.
Here are seven steps you can take to help lead you to the life of your dreams:
1. DETERMINE YOUR PASSION.
A passage from the Vedic text known as the Upanishads states, “You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.” Think: What are your deepest dreams and desires? What do you really, really want? Our destiny is ultimately shaped by our passions and intentions to fulfill them.
2. FIGURE OUT YOUR “WHY.”
Determining your “why” will help you turn your passion into purpose. Try to set aside external notions of success, such as labels of status, money, possessions, and social connections, and focus on the feelings you hope will come once you achieve your goals.
Psychologists have found that in action and visualization many of the same parts of the brain are activated. That is why visualizing can improve performance. Imagine for a moment that you already had your dream life. How would you act? How would you think, feel, and make decisions? Create a clear picture of yourself in the future and act as if you are this person throughout your day until it becomes your natural state of being.
4. SET AN ACHIEVABLE GOAL OR INTENTION.
In order to get to your destination, you have to know how you’re going to get there. Writing down a list of your goals will help you get a clear idea of what it is that you exactly want and take more inspired action to achieve them. Then, it’s time to put in the work. If you want the dream to come true, then you’ll have to put the time,, and the effort, into making it happen.
5. PRACTICE GRATITUDE.
You are what you give your attention to. Therefore, you should try to fuel your dream with as much positive attention as possible. Gratitude raises our frequency, makes us feel good, and also attracts even more abundance into our lives.
6. REASSESS WHAT YOU KEEP IN YOUR LIFE.
Negative emotions get stored in our bodies on a cellular level. Look around for any sources of negativity that may be lurking in your life, so you can make sure you are in an environment that is conducive for your dreams to take shape. If you find anything, it’s time to let it go. If it’s a place, get out. If it’s a person, time to see them less often or not at all. If it’s something stored within you, get your body moving, meditate, and practice breathwork.
7. CELEBRATE YOUR WINS.
Reaching your dream life and achieving your goals is going to take some time. At times it’s also going to be difficult – that’s a good thing. Commend yourself for taking time for you, for working towards what you want or for trying something new. As you start to make accomplishments towards your goals, don’t forget to take a minute to celebrate, no matter how small it may seem.
Now you’re ready to go and manifest your dreams because you know what you want, you believe you can have it, and you have a well-constructed plan as to how you’re going to get it.
